Olette

The Bizzie Lizzie Barn is located in the village of Olette, in the Languedoc Rousillion region of South-West France.

The small but bustling village of Olette stands at more than 2,000 feet on the RN 116, which winds its way along the wooded valley of the Têt, down to the plain and the Mediterranean Sea, upwards to the Cerdagne Plateau and the heights of the Pyrenees beyond. One hour to Perpignan airport and the coast, two hours to Andorra, Spain, Toulouse, Carcassonne.

The village has a tabac and newsagent, bakery, butcher, small supermarket, hotel, tourist office and cafe, pharmacy and doctor's surgery. On thursdays there is a small fruit, vegetable and local produce market in the square. There is also a railway station where you can catch the little Yellow Train with its open carriages - the narrow-gauge mountain railway that climbs up into the Pyrenees from Villefranche de Conflent.

The Bizzie Lizzie Barn is in a quiet corner of the village, hidden from view behind high stone walls and faces south. Parking is nearby with easy access to the Barn by tarmac path.
